Aims
This is a personal project developing a suite of very small tools that replace popular commercial services. The tools contain only those features I personally need, and are cross-platform and lightweight.
Key Principals
- Personalised - The tools are suited to my own ways of working and can be extended if there is a need
- Useful - the tool replaces a core element of an existing app or service that I use
- Efficient - fast and small with 'just enough' features
- Cross-platform - minimal lock-in to any specific hardware platform or OS
The Tools
Bodo
A tiny static site generator
Bodo turns simple Markdown files into a complete website. Typical use cases would be:
- General information web sites
- Creating blogs
- Automatically generated dashboards
This tool is also used by other tools for operations such as exporting to web, for example, Bord uses this for its export to web functionality.
Bord
Minimalist command line kanban board
Bord provides 'just enough' functionality to allow you to create and use simple kanban boards for small projects. Manage your boards on the command line and export to the web with Bodo.
Bydel
News summariser
Reads the news once a day and emails a summary to your inbox.
Bōc
Find relationships betweeen books
Find links betweeen books, note ideas and themes while reading, the agent then notices interesting relationships between ideas across books.
